TEXARKANA, Ark.—Jax State wrapped up its 2025-26 men's golf season with a seventh-place finish at the Conference USA Championship, hosted by Texarkana Country Club.
After posting a five-over team score of 293 on Monday, Jax State made the turn on Tuesday at nine under and had gotten into the top four in the field, but were two-over as a group on the next nine to finish the day with a seven-under round of 281 and were unable to gain any ground.
The Gamecocks finished the tournament with a four-under round of 284 on Wednesday, missing a spot in match play by 11 shots. UTEP (833), New Mexico State (835), Liberty (847), and Middle Tennessee (847) will battle for the team title on Thursday.
Fifth-year senior
Ryley Heath led the way with a seventh-place finish at seven-under. The Decatur, Ala. native shot a one-under 71 on the first day with three birdies and came back with a 69 in each of the next two rounds. During the final round, he came out of a two-hour rain delay with a birdie on 17 to make the turn at one-under. Heath picked up a birdie on seven, then closed his time with the Gamecocks by draining a long putt for birdie on nine to finish the day three-under. He was fourth in the field in Par 4 scoring at -3 (3.9).
Freshman
Will Drake was 19
th in the field at -2 over 54 holes. Drake opened with a two-over 74 on Monday and bogeyed his first hole of the second round but answered with four birdies in a five-hole span to make the turn at 33. He played the next nine at even for a 69 on the day, then was one-under in Tuesday's final round.
Stanley Campbell was 32
nd in the field at one-over. Campbell answered his first round 73 with a two-under round of 70 on Tuesday. During the final round, Campbell posted a two-over round of 74.
Freshman
Tyler Neidel moved up six spots in the final round with a two-under 70 on Wednesday after rounds of 75 and 73. Neidel played the first nine of the final round at even after going birdie-birdie on 11 and 12, but gave the shots back with bogeys on 17 and 18. Neidel sandwiched a bogey on three with a pair of birdies, then got to two under on the eighth hole with a birdie by sticking his approach shot to tap in range.
Cole Lindeman rounded out the lineup in 46
th with rounds of 76, 75, and 75.
