PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.—The Jax State men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its schedule with a 10
th-place finish at the FAU Invitational at PGA National.
In the first round, the Gamecocks posted a two-over team score of 286, followed by rounds of 300 and 303 to finish at 37 over. USF won the tournament by 20 strokes over North Alabama by shooting even par.
Freshman
Ben Shedd shot up the leaderboard with a one-under final round of 70 on Tuesday to move into a tie for 24
th. Shedd posted rounds of 76 and 74 on Monday to finish with a seven-over total.
Santiago Bailleres tied for 40
th after opening with a 70, and closing with rounds of 76 and 77.
Ryley Heath was two shots back, posting the low 18 hole score on the roster during the tournament with a four-under 67 to start and posted rounds of 81 and 77 to conclude.
Gabriel Restrepo was tied for 52
nd with a 15-over total of 228 (73-76-79) and
Devin Speight was 62
nd with a 19-over total of 232 (76-74-82).
Jax State will return to action on February 24
th at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
