DALLAS – On the eve of the final regular-season conference weekend, Jax State sophomore
Ashley Phillips has been named to the 2024 Conference USA Softball All-Academic Team.
Conference USA tabbed 12 student-athletes to its 2024 CUSA Softball All-Academic Team Friday, with all nine schools represented.
Six of the 12 honorees have a GPA of 3.90 or better, including four with perfect 4.0 marks including Phillips, LA Tech's Nicole Hammoude, Sam Houston's Ellie Grill and WKU's Brylee Hage.
Phillips, a native of Alexandria, Ala., carries her cumulative 4.0 as an Exercise Science and Wellness major. As Jax State's debut season in CUSA, Phillips becomes the first Gamecock named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.
With the Spring '24 semester recently completed, Jax State collectively earned a 3.59 team GPA during their playing season. A total of nine Gamecocks earned 4.0 GPAs for the spring term including Phillips,

Caroline Lively,

Megan Rasmussen and
Amber Reed.
The Gamecocks wrap up the 2024 regular season this weekend at Sam Houston, before heading to the 2024 CUSA Softball Championship held in Las Cruces, N.M., May 8-11.
