MADISON, Ala. – Jax State softball has been selected as part of a star-studded lineup for the inaugural Rocket City Softball Showcase at Toyota Field, home of minor league baseball's Rocket City Trash Pandas, next season.
Â
The playing surface at Toyota Field will sport a new configuration in February 2025 as the Rocket City Softball Showcase will take over the stadium for a week of softball action between many of the top teams both regionally and nationally.
Â
"This is an exciting event that showcases our stadium and our community in a completely new light," said Madison Mayor Paul Finley. "Our region is known for being on the cutting edge of big things and we believe this week of softball will be one that will continue the momentum of everything here in the Town Madison development."
Â
The partnership with the City of Madison, Rocket City Trash Pandas, Madison County Commission, Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Huntsville Sports Commission brings the national spotlight to Toyota Field with more than 16 games spread across five days.
Â
The announced field includes Jax State along with fellow Conference USA foe Louisiana Tech. The CUSA duo will be joined by national mid-major powers James Madison, Miami (OH) and ETSU. Also highlighting the field is a quartet of Southeastern Conference programs with Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss all participating. Locally, in-state rival North Alabama, as well as Alabama A&M and Division II Alabama-Huntsville will also play a role in the Softball Showcase.
"Anytime we have an opportunity to grow our sport, especially in our great state, it's an honor to be included," said Jax State head coach Jana McGinnis. "The softball community is growing every day and we are thankful for everyone involved hosting this great softball event."
Â
Starting on Wednesday, Feb. 19, there will be five straight days of college softball at the home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas – headlined on day one by the long-awaited rematch between Jax State and Women's College World Series participant Alabama.
Â
Following the opening day matchup with Alabama, Jax State's preliminary schedules shows games against ETSU and Mississippi State on Friday. The Gamecocks then meet James Madison for a single game on Saturday, before finishing the weekend with back-to-back games against Auburn and North Alabama on Sunday afternoon.
Â
Public ticket sales are set for June 13th at 10 a.m., with party decks, suites, and concourse suites available.
