CHOUDRANT, La.—Jax State posted a 13
th place finish at the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek to open up the fall portion of the 2024-25 schedule.
The Gamecocks finished the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 889, posting a 295 on Monday and rounds of 297 each the last two days. Troy edged Houston for the overall team honors 857-860.
Santiago Bailleres led the way for Jax State with a 14
th place finish with a total score of 217. Bailleres had the lone under par round for the Gamecocks during the tournament in the second round with a two-under 70 after opening with a 74 and closed with a 73.
Ryley Heath was 41
st with a total of 222, opening and closing with rounds of 73.
Devin Speight posted a total of 227, highlighted by an even-par 72 in Sunday's round and finished 71
st.
Ben Shedd and
Gabriel Restrepo tied for 88
th with totals of 231 each. Shedd opened and closed with rounds of 76 and Restrepo posted 75 in each of the last two rounds.
Next up for the Gamecocks will be the Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. at Colbert Hills.
