JACKSONVILLE – The Jax State men's basketball team is set for a 13-game non-conference slate during the 2024-25 season. The slate is highlighted by five home contests, five road games and three neutral site meetings before Conference USA play starts on Jan. 4, 2025. 
 
The Gamecocks have met eight of the 11 set opponents prior to this season. South Alabama and Fort Valley State are the only two opponents that were also on Jacksonville State's 2023-24 schedule. 
 
Let's Get it Started
Jacksonville State is set to open up the 2024-25 campaign on Nov. 4 at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Ala. with LaGrange College. The Gamecocks are 8-0 in home openers under head coach Ray Harper and have not lost a home opening game since the 2013-14 season. 
 
Home Sweet Home
Following the game with LaGrange, Jax State has four more home contests lined up before the start of conference play. The Gamecocks are set to play Georgia State (Nov. 13), Columbia International (Dec. 2), Utah Valley (Dec. 14) and Fort Valley State (Dec. 30). The December 14 game against Utah Valley is a part of an ongoing partnership between Conference USA and the Western Athletic Conference. 
 
On the Road Again
After opening the season at home, Jacksonville State hits the road for the first time, playing at Air Force on Nov. 7. The Gamecocks have four more away games in 2024, traveling to Coastal Carolina (Nov. 17), South Alabama (Dec. 8), Missouri (Dec. 17) and Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 21). Jax State's first three conference matchups are also all on the road. 
 
Battling at the Boardwalk
Jacksonville State's three neutral site games all come from Nov. 21-23 at the Boardwalk Battle in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Gamecocks open up the event and square off with East Carolina on Thursday before taking on one of Toledo/Stetson on Friday. The event concludes with a third and final game on Saturday. Jax State will match up with one of James Madison, La Salle, UC San Diego or UIC in the final game. 
 
It Just Means More
When Jax State travels to Columbia, Mo. on Dec. 17 to square off with Missouri, it will be the 48th meeting for Jacksonville State with current members of the SEC. The Gamecocks have matched up with Alabama the most times (16) and Auburn the second most (14). This will be the first meeting in program history between Jax State and Missouri. 
 
There's a First Time for Everything
Three of Jax State's 2024-25 non-conference opponents are set to be the first meetings in program history. Columbia International and Utah Valley join Missouri as the three first time opponents on Jacksonville State's schedule. Columbia International will be Jacksonville State's first game in the month of December while the Gamecocks will meet Utah Valley (home) and Missouri (away) in back-to-back games.
