DALLAS – Jax State senior guard
Mostapha El Moutaouakkil has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week after helping lead Jax State to a 2-0 record.
El Moutaouakkil averaged 26.5 points across the pair of contests, including a 33-point outing in a 74-67 win over Coastal Carolina. The senior from Rabat, Morrocco began his week with a 20-point showing against Reinhardt.

The senior also averaged 7.5 rebounds in the pair of games, shooting 52.9 percent from the field and launching 5-for-10 from three. El Moutaouakkil is shooting 6-for-12 from three this year after not making a three on seven attempts last year.
Through last Friday's action, El Moutaouakkil leads Conference USA, averaging 26.7 points per game this season.
El Moutaouakkil and the Gamecocks return to action on Wednesday night at 6 p.m., hosting South Alabama at The Pete.
