JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Jacksonville State volleyball hosts Sam Houston Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25. Saturday's match against the Bearkats will be Jax State's Senior Day with a celebration of the team's seniors happening prior to first-serve.
 
The Gamecocks are coming off an 0-2 weekend at Kennesaw State last Friday and Saturday. Jax State fell 3-1 on Friday, Oct. 17, and lost 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 18.
 
Against the Owls, Kayla Williams led Jax State with 29 kills on a team-best 4.14 kills per set. Williams also added seven digs and four service aces against Kennesaw. Amaya Tolentino had the next most kills with 12, while Sanni Rantanen added 10 kills. Also offensively, Charlee Solomon had a team-best 56 assists on 8.00 assists per set. Rantanen led Red-and-White with five aces.
 
Solomon also had 11 digs on 1.57 digs per set, four kills, two aces, and two blocks. Luci Wilkinson led the Gamecocks with 15 digs on 2.14 digs per set. Madison Konopka had eight digs in the two matches against the Owls. At the net, Keyauna Linwood had a team-best four total blocks.
 
Williams leads CUSA this season with 323 kills and an average of 4.14 kills per set. Wilkinson ranks second in digs per set in the league averaging 4.35. Meanwhile, Wilkinson is second in the conference in total digs at 339. Solomon ranks first in CUSA in total assists with 708. Solomon is third in the conference with her average of 9.08 assists per set. Finally, Rantanen is tied for third in the league with 31 total service aces.

Scouting Sam Houston: The Sam Houston State Bearkats are 8-13 overall and 0-8 in CUSA play. Sam Houston is coming off an 0-2 weekend at Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky won 3-0 on Oct. 17, before downing the Bearkats 3-2 on Oct. 18. The Bearkats currently sit in 11^th place in the CUSA standings. The Bearkats are led by Chloe Monson who is second in the league with 308 kills on the season. Monson ranks fourth in the league with an average of 3.54 kills per set. Shaelin White leads CUSA with 363 digs, while being third in the league averaging 4.13 digs per set. Jax State holds a 3-2 all-time record against Sam Houston.
