JACKSONVILLE — The 12th-ranked Jax State rifle squad will wrap up the fall semester of action against 19th-ranked UT Martin in a Friday morning match before hosting the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. UT Martin and 18th-ranked UAB will be a part of the weekend invitational.

All three days are set to begin at 9 a.m. at the Gamecock Rifle Range.

Jax State is ranked 12th in the latest CRCA poll and is 2-2 on the season. Previously, Jax State competed against The Citadel in its first home match of the season, where the Gamecocks earned an 85-point win, 4697-4612. The Gamecocks earned the top-six places in individual competeors, led by Frans Rasmusson's 1183 aggregate score with 81 centers. Freshman Maja Pedersen was second on the list with an aggregate of 1172 with 73 centers. Alex Watts, Akos Marta, Lars Lilleng, and Jenny Ek rounded out the top six in last Saturday's action.

Rasmusson leads the squad with a smallbore average of 587 and an air rifle average of 593.25 for an aggregate average of 1180.25. As a squad, Jax State is posting a smallbore average of 2324.25 and an air rifle average of 2365.5 for an aggregate average of 4689.75.

UT Martin is ranked 19th and is 0-6 so far on the year. Most recently, the Skyhawks hosted top-10 Alaska-Fairbanks in Martin, Tennessee, falling 4714-4627. So far this season, the Skyhawks have posted a smallbore average of 2290.8 and an air rifle average of 2334.4 for an aggregate average of 4625.2. The Skyhawks are led by Sophia Ashford, who has posted a smallbore average of 576 and an airrifle average of 586.6 for an aggregate average of 1162.6.

UAB is ranked 18th and is 3-2 so far this season. Most recently, UAB was part of a tri-meet involving Akron and VMI, falling to the Zips but defeating the Keydets. UAB also previously faced then-top-ranked Nebraska, falling 4734-4598 to the Huskers. This season, the Blazers have posted a smallbore average of 2292.25 and an air rifle average of 2327.75 for an aggregate average of 4620. The Blazers are led by Piper Wentland, who has posted a smallbore average of 575.5 and an air rifle average of 593.25 for an aggregate average of 1168.75.
