JACKSONVILLE - 12th-ranked Jax State fired a program-record 2383 in air rifle, powered by
Akos Marta and
Frans Rasmusson's 599 scores, en route to a 4698-4621 victory over to the 19th-ranked UT Martin Skyhawks on Friday at the Gamecock Rifle Range.
Jax State improves to 3-2 while UT Martin falls to 0-7 on the year.
Rasmusson had the highest aggregate score of the day with an aggregate of 1186 (587 SB, 599 AR) with 89 centers, tying his season-high.
Maja Pedersen had the second-highest aggregate with a 1170 (579 SB, 591 AR) with 63 centers.
Jenny Ek rounded out the top three with an aggregate of 1167 (573 SB, 594 AR) with 71 centers.Â
Alex Watts was a top-five performer in smallbore with a score of 576 with 26 centers.
Lars Lilleng was eighth with a score fo 569 with 25 centers.
Rasmusson and Marta both fired 599 in air rifle, with Rasmusson firing 57 centers and Marta putting up 54. They tied Brandon Muske's school record of 599 set in 2017.
Ek and Pedersen finished third and fourth with scores of 594-42x and 591-36x.
Jax State will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, November 22, for the start of the Gamecock Invitational. The Gamecocks will host UT Martin, UAB, North Georgia, and Wofford.
