Jax State men's golf posted its best 54-hole total of the spring during the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, held at RTJ Magnolia Grove.
The Gamecocks finished the tournament at three-over as a team in a tie for third place with Valparaiso. Host South Alabama won the tournament at -21.
Santiago Bailleres was the top finisher for Jax State in fourth place with a total of nine under. He started strong with a five-under round of 66, highlighted by his second eagle of the season on the 520-yard Par 4 seventh, and was bogey-free on the back nine. Bailleres posted 68 in the second round and finished with a 70 in the final round.
He was the co-leader in the field in Par 4 scoring at 3.76.
Ryley Heath placed 20
th with a total of two over, closing the tournament with an even-par 71 after shooting 72 in each of the first two rounds. He was fifth in the field in Par 3 scoring at 2.92.
Ricardo Matho was a stroke behind in 23
rd place, going even-par in the second round in between a one-over and two-over round. Matho's 13 birdies were seventh-most in the field.
Ben Shedd was 40
th at eight-over with rounds of 73, 76, and 72.
Gabriel Restrepo was 47
th at +10 (74, 75, 74) and
Richie Reck was 69
th at +19 (80, 76, 76).

st.
