The Jax State men's golf team wrapped up its final regular season tournament with a fourth-place finish at the Irish Creek Collegiate, hosted by Appalachian State University.
The Gamecocks were +10 as a team on Monday and +1 as a team on Tuesday in the weather-shortened 36-hole tournament.
Marquette won the event with a total of -5, followed by Old Dominion at +8, and Morehead State at +10.
Santiago Bailleres had the best individual showing on the roster, tying for third just one shot off the lead. Bailleres posted an even-par round of 70 on Monday and a three-under 67 on Tuesday.
Ricardo Matho made a charge on Tuesday with an even-par round, rattling off five birdies in six holes to open the back nine. He opened the tournament with a 74 and finished in a tie for 16
th in the field.
Ben Shedd tied for 28
th with two rounds at three-over.
Gabriel Restrepo and
Ryley Heath were two shots back in a tie for 37
th. Restrepo shot rounds of 73 and 75 and Heath a 77 and a 71.
The team will return to action on April 21
st at the Conference USA Championship in Texarkana, Ark.
