Jax State got out to a hot start against Sam Houston on Thursday, including a first quarter in which they shot 6-of-11 from the field, 50% from three, hit 10-of-13 free throws, and led 23-20 heading into the second. Sam Houston turned the tides on the Gamecocks and outscored them 23-11 in the second. The Bearkats went on to win 70-51
Djurdjevic's Night
Against Sam Houston, forward
Mina Djurdjevic recorded a 10-point, 11 rebound double-double. That marked the first career double-double by the freshman from Serbia. Djurdjevic's best game prior to Jan. 29 came when she scored a career-high against UC Davis on Nov. 29, 2025. Djurdjevic had to step into a starting role as the Gamecocks were without
Brooklyn McDaniel.

Eden Sample and
Mya Barnes tied for a team best 13 points. Barnes scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half and played 23 minutes of game time due to foul trouble.
Kyera Thornsbury scored five points and led the Gamecocks with two assists. Djurdjevic, Barnes, and Sample all tied for a team-best two steals, while Djurdjevic and Barnes had one block apiece against the Bearkats.
Shooters Shoot
The Gamecocks rank first in CUSA with an average of 8.2 threes made per game. They also have made 163 threes thus far, which also ranks first in the league. At Kennesaw State on Jan. 17, Jax State hit a season-high 14 threes, including seven made shots from range at halftime. Against the Owls, the 14 makes were on an efficient 28 attempts.
Jones' Star Weekend
Adriana Jones scored a team-best 20 points in a home win against New Mexico State on Jan. 22. Jones then tied for a team-high 13 points in the win versus UTEP on Jan. 24. The 20 points against the Aggies is the second most Jones has scored this season. On Nov. 13, the Troy transfer had a career-night scoring 26 points on 9-of-15 from the floor.

Jax State and Louisiana Tech are matching up for the sixth time ever on Saturday. The Lady Techsters hold a 4-1 all-time record against the Gamecocks. In the first ever meeting, LA Tech won 67-53 in Thomas Assembly Center. Jax State won the most recent meeting 68-55 in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
