Women’s Tennis Blanks Alabama A&M

JACKSONVILLE—Jax State cruised to a 4-0 win in their non-conference home match with Alabama A&M on Wednesday to move to 4-3 on the season.
Playing to clinch, the Gamecocks took the doubles point with a 6-0 win by Aneka Patel and Polina Ramenskaja at the top flight and a 6-2 win in the third flight by Sae Kaneko and Ange Rodriguez Rizo.
In singles play, Patel was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at Line 2, and Kaneko was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at Line 5. Alba Roche moved into the singles lineup to clinch the match at Line 6 with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Ramenskaja was up a set in her No. 1 Singles match that went unfinished, as was Irene Artigas at Line 3.
The Gamecocks will be back on the courts in eight days when they travel to Troy on February 26th before opening Conference USA play at home on March 1st with LA Tech.
