Men's Tennis Falls At No. 42 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Jax State men's tennis lost their second match of the season Sunday against number 42 ranked Florida State. The Gamecocks the match 4-0 to the Seminoles.
The Gamecocks dropped the doubles point before falling in three matches in singles. Lucius Soller and Zach Murphy lost on doubles court one 7-5 against Luis Felipe Miguel and Erik Schiessl. After that, Alin Fatu and Charlie Penman fell in a match that came down to tiebreakers on doubles court three. Florida State's Oren Ererzer and Gabor Hornung downed Fatu and Penman 7-6 (7-4).
David Krasner and Marko Milosavljevic tied 6-6 on court two with Jusin Lyons and Azariah Rusher but the match went unfinished.
In singles, Murphy was defeated by Lyons 6-1, 6-1 on court five in the first match to finish of the day. Penman lost 6-4, 6-3 on court one to make it match point for Florida State. Dahiya was defeated 6-4, 6-2 on court three to end the match and give Florida State the win.
Krasner won the first set on court two 7-6 (7-5) but his match went unfinished. Timo De Visser lost his first set on court four 7-6 (7-3) but his match was unfinished. On court four, Fatu's singles match also went unfinished. Fatu lost the first set 6-2 and was down 5-4 in the second when the match was clinched.
The Gamecocks are back in action at Eastern Kentucky Wednesday, March 4.
