JACKSONVILLE – Women's Tennis is back in action versus in-state rival North Alabama Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jax State Tennis Courts.
The Gamecocks (3-1) are coming off a dominant 7-0 win over Lee University on Saturday, Feb. 7. Meanwhile, North Alabama (3-2) is fresh off a 4-0 win at Jackson State on Friday, Feb. 6.
Against Lee, the Gamecocks won the doubles point before completing the sweep with wins on every singles court in action.
In singles play this season,
Irene Artigas,
Sae Kaneko,
Polina Ramenskaja are all leading the Gamecocks with a perfect 3-0 record.
Emma Montagner earned her first win of the season against Lee to make her 1-0 thus far.
Angeles Rodriguez-Rizo and
Isabella Sambola are tied with a 2-2 record,
Aneka Patel is 1-1, and
Alba Roche sits at 0-1. The Gamecocks have a 15-6 record to this point in singles action.
Artigas and Sambola are 3-0 as a doubles team, while Rodriguez-Rizo and Kaneko are 3-1 as a team. Ramenskaja and Patel are currently 1-2 as a team, while Ramenskaja and Roche have teamed up once and hold a 0-1 doubles record. In doubles, Jax State is 7-4 as a team.
Following the match against North Alabama, women's tennis hosts Samford Friday at 12 p.m.
