JACKSONVILLE – Jax State men's tennis earned a dominant 7-0 win against Georgia State Sunday at the Jax State Tennis Courts. Prior to the match, Jax State honored their four seniors
Charlie Penman,
Lucius Soller,
Matei Palcau, and
Alin Fatu.
The Gamecocks opened the afternoon with a win doubles play. On court one,
Timo De Visser and
David Krasner teamed up to down Georgia State's Cem Atlamis and Aryan Jit Singh by a score of 6-1. Meanwhile,
Aman Dahiya and Soller were victorious by a score of 6-3 against Arthur Attrill and Gabriele Datei.
Penman and Fatu were leading Gustav Andersson and Sota Minami 5-3 on doubles court three when the doubles point was clinched by the Gamecocks.
Dahiya kept the winning momentum alive with a straight set win against Singh on court singles court three. Dahiya won 6-1, 6-0. Krasner made it 3-0 Jax State with a 7-5, 6-0 straight-set triumph over Atlamis on court two. On court four,
Marko Milosavljevic extended Jax State's lead to 4-0 with a pair of 6-4 wins in both the first and second sets.
De Visser continued to help Jax State roll to the dominant win with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph on court five against Andersson. Fatu was able to down Yuva Pavuluri 6-2, 6-4 on court six. Penman wrapped up the match with a three-set win on court one against Datei. Penman won the first set 6-2, then Datei took the second set 6-2. Penman closed out the match with a 6-2 win in the third.
Jax State will move on to face UAB on the road Wednesday, March 18, at 11 a.m.
