Jax State Softball Promotes Hayley Sims to Associate Head Coach

JACKSONVILLE – Jax State softball head coach Julie Boland announced the promotion of Hayley Sims to associate head coach for the Gamecocks on Tuesday.
Sims played a crucial role in helping the Gamecocks to a 45-16 record this past season as an assistant coach, resulting in a Conference USA regular season title, a CUSA tournament title and an NCAA Regional berth as well.
"Promoting Hayley to associate head coach is a natural and much-deserved next step for our program," Boland said. "Hayley has been instrumental in elevating Jax State softball. Her passion, love and deep commitment for this program and the sport itself are what make her a great leader for this program."
Sims has served as an assistant coach with Jax State softball for the last three seasons, serving alongside Boland in her first two seasons as head coach and one season with former head coach Jana McGinnis in her final year with the program.
Sims has been with the program for seven seasons in all, including a four-year stint as a player from 2016-19. As a Gamecock, Sims helped lead Jax State to three Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships, along with three NCAA Regional appearances.
"I couldn't be more excited to continue building this program together with her," Boland said.
