JACKSONVILLE – Jax State softball announced its schedule for the 2026 fall season on Wednesday, including four home matchups and the 19th annual Tera Ross Memorial Tournament in Oxford, Ala.
The Gamecocks will kick off the slate with a trio of road trips, including back-to-back contests against Ole Miss on Oct. 9 and Memphis on Oct. 10. Jax State will then travel east to Georgia State on Oct. 14 for the final road game of the fall.
Jax State will return to Jana McGinnis Field on Oct. 16, with a matchup against Wallace State before the Tera Ross Memorial Tournament on Oct. 17 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford. The competitors in the tournament will be announced on a later date.
The Tera Ross Memorial Tournament is named in the memory of former Jax State pitcher Tera Ross, a three-time letterwinner that was tragically killed in an automobile accident just before her senior season.
As a junior in 2003, Ross led the team with a 1.17 ERA which is still the third-lowest in team history. Ross ranks in the top five in Jacksonville State's career record books in strikeouts, innings pitched, wins and games started. Her No. 31 is prominently featured throughout the Gamecock program.
Following the tournament, the Gamecocks will wrap up the schedule with two final home games, including Gadsden State on Oct. 20 and Northeast Alabama on Oct. 27.
