Biography

JSU CAREER:
2014: Started all 55 games for the Gamecocks as a junior…was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-OVC after leading the team with a .417 average and leading the OVC in most offensive categories…was second in the OVC in average but first in slugging percentage (.780), on base percentage (.515), runs scored (49), hits (70), RBI (50), doubles (15), home runs (14) and total bases (131)…she was second in the OVC with 30 walks…she ranked in JSU’s top five single-season lists for average, slugging pct. And runs and in the top 10 in hits, RBI and walks…in OVC play, she hit .400 with a .700 slugging pct., five homers and seven doubles…a Second Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA after carrying a 3.86 GPA…was named first team all-region by the NFCA…her average never got below .400 during the season and was over .500 through the first 26 games…had 21 multi-hit games, including three four-hit outings, and 14 multi-RBI games…was named the OVC Player of the Week three times…hit two home runs against Auburn on Feb. 22.
 
2013: Named First Team All-OVC after playing in 55 games…led JSU with a .354 batting average in the regular season while hitting .435 in conference play…finished fourth in the OVC with 11 home runs and second with 17 doubles and 32 walks…also ranked fourth in the league with 63 hits and fifth with 41 RBI…finished with 19 multi hit games on the year, including two 3-for-3 outings (vs. Alabama A&M on Feb. 20 and vs. UT Martin on April 7)…was a perfect 8-for-8 on stolen bases...named OVC Player of the Week three times on the season…her 3-for-3 performance against Alabama A&M helped her earn her OVC Player of the Week honors on Feb. 25…she earned her second OVC honor on April 8 after hitting a walk off home run against UT Martin…she then went 6-for-10 (.600) with a double, two home runs and seven RBI over the Gamecocks' three games while being named OVC Player of the Week on April 28.
 
2012: Played in all but one of the Gamecocks’ 56 games as a true freshman and earned the starting nod in 54 of them…spent the season as the team’s primary right fielder, where she earned Second Team All-OVC and OVC All-Newcomer Honors…recorded a team-best 13 outfield assists in the field, while boasting a .310 average with six home runs, a team-high 13 doubles and 32 RBI at the plate…in league play, was JSU’s best hitter with a .320 average and 10 of her doubles…had a .426 on-base percentage in OVC games, thanks in large part to 18 of her 27 walks…hit .429 as the leadoff batter in an inning and hit .333 with two outs…earned her first career start and notched her first career hit in the season opener vs. Lipscomb on Feb. 10…had 15 multi-hit games, including two 4-for-4 outings (vs. EKU on March 24 and at Alabama State on May 1)…drove in a season-high five runs on two home runs in an April 6 win over Southeast Missouri…had three hits in a game twice.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Brian Hess at Alexandria High School in Alexandria, Ala…was a three-time first team all-state selection for the Valley Cubs and guided them to four Calhoun County Titles, two area championships and one regional crown…was named all-county in all four seasons and was the AHS Team MVP in 2009, 2010 and 2011, while earning team offensive MVP nods in 2010 and 2011…the Calhoun County Player of the Year in both her junior and senior seasons…was a 2010 AHSAA North All-Star…was the MVP of the Calhoun County Tournament in 2010 after earning Offensive MVP honors in 2008 and 2009…a career .454 hitter with 30 homers, 20 triples, 69 doubles, 213 RBI and 45 steals…hit .507 as a senior after boasting a .540 average in her junior season…also lettered in basketball at AHS…was an honor student.
 
PERSONAL: Born on May 2, 1993, in Anniston, Ala…the daughter of Glenn and Shelia Borders…has an older sister, Lindsey Roden…received her degree in exercise science and wellness from JSU in December.
