Biography

JSU CAREER: 2022: Did not see action due to an injury.

2021: Made 14 appearances and accumulated 13 starts on the bump for the Gamecocks…the game three starter for the Gamecocks during the season…accumulated a career high in innings pitched with 62.0 innings…had a record of 6-5 during the year and a 3.63 earned run average...started the combined no-hitter against Tennessee Tech (Mar 27)…collected 54 strikeouts on the season which ranked fourth on the staff.

2020: Turned in four appearances on the mound and made a start in the final game of the season at Kennesaw State (March 10)…allowed an unearned run in nine innings on the season and finished with seven strikeouts…tossed 3.1 innings of work in relief against Missouri…worked a pair of clean innings out of the bullpen against Gardner-Webb and retired all six batters faced and three strikeouts.

2019: Saw action in 15 games and made his second start of his career against Samford on March 5…tossed 24.2 innings and nearly posted a strikeout per inning with 22 on the season…picked up his first career win versus UAB on May 14 after pitching 4.0 innings in relief and fanning three in the appearance…matched a career-high for strikeouts with four versus Auburn in 2.1 innings on the mound.

2018: Made 21 appearances as a true freshman, including his first career start against Troy on April 4…made his JSU debut on opening weekend against Southern Illinois on February 18…pitched a season high 2.0 innings versus Samford on May 9…allowed one hit and tallied four strikeouts in the outing against the Bulldogs…posted three strikeouts on two occasions against Jacksonville on March 24 and at Troy on May 1…finished the season with 13.0 innings pitched and collected 16 strikeouts.

High School: Local product from Jacksonville…attended Jacksonville High School…coached by former baseball Gamecock David Deerman and David Clark at JHS…a four-year member of the Golden Eagles program…improved his velocity on the mound after playing the summer circuit with the East Cobb Astros…served as the closer for the East Cobb Astros at the Super 25 Qualifier and the Sandlot World Series…also participated in travel ball with Team Alabama in 2015 and the Oxford Swarm from 2010-14….as a junior, he finished with a 6-2 record on the mound and had a 0.72 earned run average with 66 strikeouts…at the plate, he had a .405 batting average with 27 RBIs….wrapped up his JHS career with an 8-1 mark on the mound along with three saves…tallied a 1.26 earned run average and 85 strikeouts…was productive offensively with a .402 batting average…named The Anniston Star’s All-Calhoun County Class 4A-6A Player of the Year…a two-time member of the Calhoun County All-Tournament Team(2016, 2017)…named to the 2017 Alabama Sportswriters First Team All-State as a pitcher.

Personal: Born on July 10, 1999 in Birmingham, Alabama...the son of Terry and Windy Casey, both educators in Calhoun County, father Terry is Dean of Students at JSU and mother Windy is a teacher in the Piedmont, Alabama school system…enrolled in the sports management program at JSU…lists the New York Yankees as his favorite Major League Baseball club.
