MONROE, La. – Jacksonville State's
Portia Abbott holds a shot after Monday's second round of the Fred Marx Invitational hosted by the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
The Gamecocks shot a team score of 612 and is tied for second place, behind leader Samford's total of 600. The Gamecocks are tied with McNeese State, while Central Arkansas and Sam Houston State are tied for fourth place in the 11-team field.
Abbott shot 71-74 to hold a one shot lead with a total of 1-over par 145.
Ashley Cox and Lucia Fernandez are both tied for 17th after turning in a 154, while
Laura Cutler shot a 161 to tie for 38th and
Alexandra Espinosa finished with a 164.
The final round of the 54-hole event concludes on Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Bayou DeSiard Country Club.
