Final Results

MONTGOMERY – The Jacksonville State Women's Tennis teamed open the 2009 season with a 7-0 win over Alabama State on Thursday at ASU Tennis Courts.

Jax State swept all three doubles matches to claim a 1-0 lead while not losing a game in the process. Martina Dessbesell and Eloah Lopes won at No. 1 doubles over Safiya Taylor and Sheniece Rawlins. Viviane Marani and Laura Lundy defeated Shameka Williams and Maria Hunter at No. 2 while Rafaila Wenzel and Kristen Fuller completed the sweep downing Beonca Dunn and Tavera Flaming at No. 3.

The Gamecocks lost a total of three games in six singles matches. Marani, Dessbesell, Wenzel, Renesto, Lopes and Fuller captured No. 1 through No. 6 singles position.

Jacksonville State opens its home schedule against Shorter at 1:30 p.m. at the JSU Tennis Courts.
