JSU Baseball vs Southern Illinois Moved to 3 p.m. on Friday

Jacksonville State's baseball game against Southern Illinois on Friday has been moved to 3 p.m. at Rudy Abbott Field due to expected low temperatures later in the evening.

The Gamecocks have won five straight games and enters with an 8-3 record.

Jacksonville State is expected to start Jordan Beistline on Friday. The senior right-hander has a 2-0 record and 0.00 earned run average this season. Daniel Watts (LHP) is expected to start on Saturday and Aaron Elias (RHP) will start on Sunday.

Freshman Cody Blanchard leads the Gamecock offense with a .457 batting average, while junior Ben Waldrip is hitting .448. Junior Sam Eberle leads the team with 14 RBI and is batting ..362.

Jordan Sivertsen leads Southern Illinois with a .350 average this year and also has nine RBIs and seven extra-base hits. Sivertsen hit his second home run of the season on Wednesday in a 10-9 loss to Le Moyne.

Following Friday's game, the two teams will play a single-game on both Saturday and Sunday. Game time is set for 1 p.m. both days at Rudy Abbott Field.
