FINAL RESULTS
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Jacksonville State women's golf team's championship season came to an end on Saturday, when the Gamecocks finished the NCAA East Regional in 22nd place at the Penn State Blue Course.
The Ohio Valley Conference champion Gamecocks carded a final-round 309 to finish the three-round regional with a 927, ahead of Oral Roberts and Long Island. No. 25 South Carolina won the 54-hole regional that was played on the par-72, 6,253-yard layout, and the top eight teams in the 24-team field advanced to the NCAA Women's Golf Championships.

Lucia Fernandez Valdes was JSU's top finisher, claiming a tie for 41st after a final-round 77 gave her a 54-hole score of 228. The Cordoba, Argentina, native wraps up her collegiate career with the lowest career scoring average in JSU history. She holds an average of just over 76 in 107 rounds played, which are the third-most in school history.

Ornella Arrizon tied for 87th in the 126-player field. The native of Mexico City, Mexico, carded a team-low 75 in Saturday's final round, giving her a 54-hole score of 233. Arrizon dropped her score multiple shots all three rounds of the regional.

Luz Armijo-Fernandez and senior
Astrid Parsson tied for 102nd with a three-day score of 238. Armijo-Fernandez turned in a 78 on Saturday, two shots better than Parsson's 80. Parsson, a native of Malmo, Sweden, also wrapped up her collegiate career in the NCAA event. Sophomore
Lourdes Lopez Caballo rounded out the JSU lineup with a 239 after a final-round 79 put her in a tie for 104th.
The JSU men, also OVC champs, will compete in their NCAA tournament next week, beginning the 54-hole Bowling Green, Ky., Regional on Thursday. The three-day event will be played on the Club at Olde Stone.
