JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team will host Tennessee State on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., right after the Gamecock women play the Tigers at 2 p.m. Students and fans age 18 and under get in free.
The Gamecocks wrap up a quick two-game homestand Saturday afternoon with the first of two meetings with Tennessee State in less than two weeks. They will then take to the road for a three-game swing that will begin in Illinois and end at TSU on Jan. 17.
JSU will look to bounce back from a 73-62 loss to Ohio Valley Conference newcomer Belmont on Thursday, while the Tigers won their third game in a row on Thursday, 72-66 at Tennessee Tech. TSU has now won seven of its last nine games after starting the season 1-5.
The game will mark the 21st meeting between the Gamecocks and Tigers, with TSU claiming 11 of the previous meetings. The series has been dominated by the home team, with Jax State winning eight of 10 meetings at Pete Mathews Coliseum and TSU winning nine of the 10 meetings in Nashville.
