JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State rifle team has put together another strong resume' when the time comes for NCAA Championship selections as the Gamecocks posted its best score through the fall session of the schedule this past weekend in the Gamecock Invitational.
In its lone home match of the semester, third-ranked Jax State posted an aggregate score of 4679, which was its best score of the season. The mark bettered the previous mark of 4676 that was shot at the University of Memphis to start the season. JSU tallied a 2357 in the air rifle portion of the invitational and a 2322 in smallbore. JSU claimed the top spot by 27 points over ninth-ranked Memphis.

Samantha Bullard claimed medalist honors with a 593. Bullard was one four Jax State shooters to place in the top-10 on the individuals list. Senior
Cole Tucker finished two shots back at 591 to claim third place, while senior
Dan McCall scored a 587 for sixth place. Sophomore
Brandon Muske rounded out the JSU top-10 finishers with a mark of 586 to claim eighth.
JSU dominated in smallbore as Tucker, Bullard and McCall all finished with the top mark of 584. Senior
Brent Books and Muske turned in marks of 570.
The Gamecocks return to action in January as it faces Murray State at the Gamecock Rifle Range on Jan. 18.
