JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team dropped back-to-back matches Friday and Saturday, bringing its season to a close. The Gamecocks fell 5-2 to Belmont on Friday and concluded the 2017 campaign with a 4-3 loss to Tennessee State on Saturday.

Genevie Ulanday and Alba Conejero each tallied singles wins against Belmont on Friday. Ulanday's win over the Bruins' Laura Kent took extra points to claim both sets, while Conejero out-scored Lindsey Whitehead 12-5 in two sets.

The Gamecocks dropped a hard-fought match in their final contest of the year. A one-point victory for the Tigers came despite three singles wins for Jacksonville State. Diana Monsalve, Malin Buechner and Conejero each snagged points, while the team of Ulanday and Monsalve scored a set in doubles.
