Edwards blossomed late in the JSU bullpen and became a valuable arm late in games, including save situations.  Edwards made 19 appearances out of the bullpen and carried the best earned run average on the club with a 1.91 ERA in 33.0 innings of work.  He allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs in the 2018 season.  In OVC action, Edwards had an ERA of 1.42 and a 3-1 record.  He has collected three saves in OVC contests.  In 10 appearances against OVC foes, the Hartselle, Alabama right hander has 32 strikeouts in 19.0 innings of work in the conference.  Conference hitters are hitting .127 against him.  He established a career-high nine strikeouts in a career-long 4.2 innings in JSU's OVC Tournament contest against Eastern Kentucky.

Frederick, from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is another utility guy after playing four different spots in the field, including all three outfield spots.  He posted a .296 batting clip in 29 OVC games and turned in nine home runs and 28 RBI.  Frederick had one of the top slugging percentages in OVC games-only at .522 and was a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases in the league.
