
Women's Tennis Set for Weekend Road Trip

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team hits the road for a pair of contests against ASUN opponents, Friday and Sunday.
JSU (6-11, 2-4) will take on Kennesaw State (1-4, 11-5) on Friday, April 8, at 9 a.m. in Kennesaw, Ga., before facing Florida Gulf Coast (10-6, 4-1) Sunday, April 10, at 12 p.m. in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Gamecocks enter the weekend coming off a pair of losses to North Florida (7-0) and Stetson (6-1) and are 2-4 in conference action. JSU currently sits in sixth place in the conference standings. The top-six team will advance to the ASUN Conference Championships, beginning on April 22.
Sophomore Anna Syrova continues to lead JSU and boasts a 10-5 overall record in her first year with the program.
Kennesaw State's Sofia Pinedo leads the way with a 10-6 singles record on the year and is 8-5 in the sixth flight.
FGCU is led by Jordana Osaa who is 14-8 overall on the year. In doubles play, the duo of Ida Ferding and Emma Bardet is 9-7 overall and ranks No. 85 in the ITA doubles rankings.
FGCU and Kennesaw State faced each other last time out with the Eagles winning, 4-3. FGCU split last week with the win over Kennesaw State and a 5-2 loss to North Florida. In addition to dropping the match against FGCU, Kennesaw also fell to Stetson, 5-2.
