STATESBORO, Ga. – The Jacksonville State rifle team turned in a 4669 in its final road match of the semester, shooting against North Georgia in a neutral setting in Statesboro, Georgia on Sunday afternoon.
The Gamecocks fired a 2369 in air rifle and added a 2300 in smallbore for their total for the day in the Peach State. UNG turned in a combined score of 4644 after posting a 2347 in air rifle and a 2297 in smallbore.
For the second time in the last three outings, Jax State was led by freshman
Frans Rasmusson, who finished third in the overall standings. Rasmusson finished with an 1170 aggregate mark after a 594 in a air rifle and a 576 in smallbore. Senior
Lars Lilleng placed fourth overall with an 1167 after combining a 587 in air rifle and a team-best 580 in smallbore. Junior
Sam Burrow rounded out the top-five finishers with an 1165 score. Burrow's highlight of the day was his near perfect score in air rifle as he fired a match0best 597, which is three marks off a perfect 600 in air rifle. He added 568 in smallbore to conclude his Sunday.

Following a break from competition next weekend, the Gamecocks will close out the fall portion of the schedule on November 17 against former Ohio Valley Conference foe UT Martin at the Gamecocks Rifle Range inside Rowe Hall on the Jax State campus. Following the match with the Skyhawks, Jax State will host the annual Gamecock Invitational throughout the weekend of Nov. 17-19.
