Two Pairs Score Wins in Regular Season Finale

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Two pairs earned wins as Gamecock beach volleyball finished up the regular season with a couple of losses in Saturday's Govs Beach Bash at Austin Peay.

Jax State (0-17-3) suffered five two-set defeats in a 5-0 setback to Austin Peay (15-10) to start the day. A veteran Governors squad jumped on top early and never looked back in their third win over the Gamecocks this Spring. The top performance for the Red-and-White came on court two as Gracie Danzinger and Isabelle Fuell totaled 28 points.

Chattanooga (13-11) narrowly knocked off Jacksonville State, 3-2, in the Govs Beach Bash finale on Saturday morning. Danzinger and Fuell picked up a 21-19, 21-19, triumph in the second flight before Carley Lynch and Brooklyn Schiffli posted a 21-19, 21-18, victory on court three. Unfortunately, the top pair of Kylee Quigley and Luci Wilkinson came up just a bit short in a 21-16, 21-15, loss.

The Gamecocks return to action at the end of the month in the Conference-USA Beach Volleyball Tournament. That league invite will take place Apr. 27-30 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
