
Trio Of Gamecocks Earn All-Conference USA Honors

MIAMI, Fla. – A trio of Gamecocks earned All-Conference USA honors, the league announced on Wednesday before the start of the 2024 CUSA Soccer Championships.
Junior Nanaka Inaba was named to the All-CUSA First Team, while junior Nancy Almanza was tabbed to the All-CUSA Second Team. Freshman Alexis Castle claimed a spot on the CUSA All-Freshman Team.
Nanaka Inaba | MF | First Team All-CUSA
Inaba has sparked Jax State's offense, one that leads the league in total goals, from the midfield spot. The Sunto Gun, Japan native was one of eight different Gamecocks to register multiple goals this season as she delivered three goals, highlighted by her equalizing goal against FIU to help her club secure a postseason spot in the 2024 CUSA Soccer Championships. Inaba tallied her second goal against conference competition in Jax State's win over Kennesaw State. She also has been credited with four assists to bring her point total to 10 on the season. Inaba has posted 26 total shots in the regular season.
Nancy Almanza | F | Second Team All-CUSA
Almanza led Jax State in goals in the nine league matches with five against CUSA foes. The DeLand, Florida native shares the club lead in total goals with junior Naroa Domemech. The duo has eight goals each this season. Almanza carried the Gamecocks to a win over Louisiana Tech with two of Jax State's four goal in the win. She has a pair of multi-goal contests with two in a non-conference decision over Talladega College. Almanza ranks second on the team in points and shots with 19 points after adding three assists on the season and 19 total attempts.
Alexis Castle | D | Freshman All-CUSA
Castle made an immediate impact in her first season on the collegiate pitch. The Woodstock, Georgia rookie played in all 18 regular season matches and started in 17 of those matches. Castle manufactured two of Jax State's goals in the win over Kennesaw State with two assists. She has posted four shots and has logged over 1,100 minutes.
