INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Former Jax State soccer player Louise Feathersone was chosen to attend the 2026 NCAA Career in Sports Forum which is an all-expense-paid conference for student-athletes. The conference was held from May 27-30, in Indianapolis, Ind. This is the second consecutive year Jax State has been represented at the Sports Forum.
The NCAA Career in Sports Forum is an annual educational program that allows 200 student athletes to learn and explore about potential careers in sports. The three-day forum helps guide student-athletes and plan out their career paths. The forum also allowed attendees to network with peers and experience the campus, conference and national level of collegiate athletics.
Notable speakers covered the following topics and more to prepare attendees for success navigating their futures: self-awareness and its role in professional development; practical approaches to the sports job search; personal branding; developing a career plan; managing yourself as a professional in the sports industry.
Through panels, engaging breakout discussions, keynote presentations and facilitated dialogues, program participants walked away from their experience with a thorough understanding of athletics as a career path and where they fit into the industry's landscape.
Featherstone is a spring 2026 summa cum laude graduate. She is a 2024-2025 CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Medal recipient, Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society member, and 2025 CUSA All-Academic Team. She became a key player for the Gamecocks in 2025, playing in all 18 games while starting the final 11 of the seasons. She was the second-leading scorer on the team with five goals and has the most assists on the team with three, for the second-highest points this season with 13.
