DALLAS, TX. – The Jacksonville State men's tennis and men's cross country teams have won the Conference USA's Sport Academic Award for their respective sports.

The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the entire academic year. Jax State and UTEP tied for the third most teams to be represented with two teams apiece.Â

Jax State's men's tennis team posted a 3.59. The Gamecocks' men's cross country team posted a 3.49 GPA mark.

Jax State's men's tennis' GPA of a 3.59 was high enough to have the squad fifth out of all 18 varsity sports at Jax State. Â
