JACKSONVILLE — The 13th-ranked Jax State rifle team will take on the 11th-ranked Murray State Racers in neutral site action on Sunday, October 26. Lineup is scheduled for 9 a.m. from the Patricia C. Lamar Army National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford, Mississippi.
Jax State is 1-0 on the season after taking down 17th-ranked Morehead State two weeks ago. The Gamecocks outscored the Eagles by nearly 40 points on the back on Frans Rasmusson's career performance, where he broke the school record in smallbore with a score of 593 on his was to an aggregate of 1186 with 81 centers.
Murray State is 2-1 on the year after taking down UT Martin in a match last weekend, defeating the Skyhawks 2709-4613. Murray State opened the season winning one and losing one in its season opening tri-meet, losing to top-ranked West Virginia (agg. 4744) but defeating UT Martin (agg. 4616). Murray State posted an aggregate of 4706 in the meet.
Murray State has taken 24 of the previous 25 meetings against the Gamecocks and is currently on a four-match winning streak. Jax State's last victory against the Racers came in January of 2023 in Murray, Kentucky.
Lineup is scheduled for 9 a.m. from the Patricia C. Lamar Army National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford, Mississippi. After this, Jax State will turn around and travel to Kentucky for another match against the Racers on Sunday, November 2.
