JACKSONVILLE — The 18th-ranked Jax State rifle squad will take on the 10th-ranked Murray State Racers for the second time in a week's span on Sunday, November 2. Lineup at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range is set for 9 a.m.

Jax State enters the match at 1-1 after falling to Murray State last Sunday in Oxford, Missisippi. Frans Rasmusson led the Gamecocks with an aggregate of 1175 with 75 centers. Rasmusson currently ranks in the top-20 nationally in smallbore with a score of 593 this year, which he posted against Morehead State to open the season.

Jenny Ek is the next-highest scored on the squad with a smarebore average of 578 and an air rifle average of 591.5 for an aggregate average of 1169.5.

Through two matches this season, Jax State is posted an average of 2316 in smallbore and 2362 in air rifle for an average aggregate of 4678.

Murray State has taken 25 of the previous 26 meetings against the Gamecocks and is currently on a five-match winning streak. Jax State's last victory against the Racers came in January of 2023 in Murray, Kentucky.
