Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season At LA Tech

RUSTON, La. – Jax State volleyball closes out the 2025 regular season this week with a pair of matches at Louisiana Tech on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for both games.
The Gamecocks are coming off a pair of wins against New Mexico State last weekend inside Pete Mathews Coliseum. Jax State rallied for a 3-2 win on Nov. 6 night before defeating the Aggies 3-1 on Nov. 7. The Gamecocks clinched a spot in the 2025 CUSA Volleyball Tournament with the wins over NMSU and ended the season with a 7-1 record at home.
Kayla Williams led the way for Jax State with 30 kills on 3.33 kills per set. Williams also added 13 digs on 1.44 digs per set. Sophia Schweikert had the next most kills with 22 on 2.44 kills per set against the Aggies. Amaya Tolentino added 17 kills, Sanni Rantanen tallied 14 kills, and D'Yanna Spicer had 10 kills.
Charlee Solomon led the Gamecocks with 81 assists on 9.00 assists per set while also totaling 16 digs on 1.78 digs per set, four kills, four aces, and two total blocks. Thanks to her efforts against the Aggies, Solomon was awarded her second CUSA Freshman of the Week Award on Nov. 10. Her first time being honored came on Oct. 13 after a stellar weekend against Missouri State.
Luci Wilkinson paced Jax State with 33 digs on 3.67 digs per set. Wilkinson had a team-best eight service aces as well. Madison Konopka added 15 digs in the two matches. Konopka's second dig on Nov. 6 put her over the 1,000-career dig mark. She now has 1,013 digs in her NCAA career.

The Bulldogs lost 3-1 to Sam Houston on Nov. 7 in a 3-1 final before falling 3-0 on Nov. 8. LA Tech earned their CUSA victory on Nov. 1 against New Mexico State in a 3-0 sweep. LA Tech's Riley Steubing is fifth in CUSA with an average of 3.78 digs per set. She has 355 digs total on the season thus far. Jacksonville State leads the all-time series 3-2 against LA Tech.
