JACKSONVILLE - Down the stretch they come! Jacksonville State begins the stretch run of the 2025 season as the first weekend in May finds the club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee against Middle Tennessee.
Jax State will be looking to secure its third consecutive series and its third straight CUSA road series. The Gamecocks have put together back-to-back series wins against New Mexico State and Sam Houston. Jax State has claimed road series at Kennesaw State and NN State.

GAMECOCK STORY LINES
• This weekend's series between Jax State and Middle Tennessee will be the first meeting in Murfreesboro since 2011. The Blue Raiders hold a 24-15 lead in the all-time series after taking 2-of-3 from the Gamecocks last season in Jacksonville. Jax State claimed a 9-2 win in the second game of the weekend. The series dates back to the 1973 season. Dating back to the 2010 season, the Gamecocks have won seven-of-the-last-nine games from MTSU and have claimed the series between the two clubs in 2010 and 2011. Jax State swept MTSU in Murfreesboro during the 2011 season, including a pair of extra-inning games. The Gamecocks claimed a 9-6 decision in 14 innings and a 12-9 win in 10 frames to complete the sweep.
• After leading Jacksonville State to three wins and another Conference USA series win, senior Drew Collins was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week. In the four games last week, Collins blistered opposing pitchers with a .588 batting average, going 10-for-17 for the week, including four extra base hits. The senior outfielder had three hits in three-of-the-four games and the lone game he did not get multiple hits, he delivered a two-run home run in Jax State's opening game with Sam Houston. The lefty opened the week with three hits in Tuesday's win over UAB, including a pair of doubles. Collins collected six RBI in the four games with a pair of multi-RBI games versus the Bearkats to lead the Gamecocks to claiming the series in the first two outings. He had at least one RBI in all four games. He produced a slugging percentage of .941 and an on-base mark of .600 after reaching base 12 times with a walk and a hit-by-pitch. Collins, who ranks second on the team in stolen bases this season (16), swiped a pair of bags on the bases.
• The Gamecocks begin the week as the one of the NCAA Division I Baseball leaders in triples and stolen bases. In the first 44 games, Jax State has collected 16 triples and ranks 20th in the nation behind Arizona (28).The Gamecocks are one triple back of Sam Houston's league-leading 17 triples on the season. Senior Drew Collins, redshirt sophomore Cooper Blauser and junior Caleb Johnson have three triples each. Jax State also ranks in the NCAA Top-40 in stolen bases with 90 on the season. Last season the Gamecocks accumulated 92 total stolen bases. The trio of Collins, Blauser and Johnson have combined for 49-of-61 on the base paths.
• Junior Grayson Ashe has reached base in the last 15 games. Ashe has eight hits-five for extra bases, including four home runs dating back to the NM State series. The catcher has pushed 12 runs across the dish over that span of games.
