ROME, Ga. – Jax State's women's tennis team earned a commanding 7-0 win Tuesday at Berry College in the first match of 2026. The match was an exhibition for the Gamecocks.
 
The Gamecocks controlled throughout doubles before taking down the Vikings in singles. On doubles court three, Isabella Sambola and Irene Artigas blanked Berry's Sydney Coppola and Charlee Eidson.
 
On doubles court one, Polina Ramenskaja and Aneka Patel beat Sara Mejia 6-1, while on doubles court two Sae Kaneko and Angeles Rodriguez-Rizo downed Paige Evans and Maggie Cox also by a score of 6-1.
 
Ramenskaja faced Mejia on singles court one. Ramenskaja won the first set 6-1 before taking the second set 6-0. On court two, Artigas defeated Cox in both sets one and two 6-1 to put Jax State up 3-0 in the match. Angeles Rodriguez-Rizo kept the winning going for the Gamecocks as she won 6-0, 6-1 against Berry's Hanson on court three.
 
On court four, Isabella Sambola played Evans in a straight-set win thanks to a 6-2 first set score and a 6-0 second set. Patel and Eidson squared off on court five with Patel taking the win 6-1, 6-0. Kaneko earned the final Jax State point thanks to a pair of 6-0 set wins over Kylee Craig.
 
The Gamecocks are back in action Thursday at the Jax State Tennis Courts as they take on Mississippi College in the first home match of the season. The match is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
