DALLAS—Jax State had three of the six members of Conference USA's Performers of the Month team for February, announced today by the league office.
Gianna Brandolino was named CUSA Bowler of the Month and Freshman of the Month, and was joined on the performers of the month team by classmate
Kaitlyn Stull and sophomore
Erin Klemencic.
That group helped the Gamecocks rack up 42 consecutive wins, two tournament titles and a runner-up finish.
During three tournaments in February, Brandolino posted a 220.3 overall average. Brandolino was third in the field in traditional scoring with a 225.6 average, highlighted by a 242 against Sacred Heart to help Jax State win by three pins. She also earned all-tournament honors at the Stallings Invitational.
Stull was on the all-tournament team at the Big Red Invitational with a 222.33 average with a high game of 258 against Nebraska. She also earned all-tournament honors at the Stallings Invitational. The freshman finished the month with a 222.2 overall average which led Conference USA. Her 60.7% strike percentage was second-best in the league.
Klemencic was the MVP at the Stallings Invitational with a 232 average in traditional play. Her overall average of 215.6 was fourth-best in the league last month. Klemencic picked up all of her single-pin spares last month and 94.4% of her makable spares.
The Gamecocks will be back in action this weekend at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic starting on Friday.
