DALLAS—During a three-game sweep of Sam Houston in the final Conference USA series of the regular season, Jax State had two players recognized by the league for their performance.

Ashley Phillips was selected as the Conference USA Player of the Week and pitcher
Makenna Moore was named the freshman of the week.
Phillips had five hits, four of which went for extra bases and posted a .750 on-base percentage. She homered in both games of Saturday's doubleheader and drew four walks on the weekend.
Moore threw eight total innings and did not allow a run, highlighted by a complete game shutout during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. In eight innings, Moore struck out four, walked none, and allowed five total hits.
The Gamecocks will open the Conference USA Tournament on Thursday at 11 a.m. Central. The opponent will be determined on Wednesday.
