PRIOR TO JSU
Played his first two collegiate seasons for head coach Doc Sadler at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb…was a key component of a program that won almost 40 games and fell to eventual national champion Kansas in the 2008 Big 12 Championship…stormed onto the scene as a freshman, starting 19-of-29 games…averaged 3.9 points and 2.1 assists per game, while hitting 41 percent of his shots and 46 percent from behind the arc, a Nebraska freshman record and third-best 3-point field goal percentage in school history…a stellar defender, was matched with the Huskers’ opponents’ top playmakers…as a sophomore, appeared in 32 games and averaged almost 19 minutes per game…scored 4.8 points pr game and connected on 36 percent of his shots and 37 percent from 3-point land…an 80 percent shooter from the free throw line.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played for head coach Luther Tiggs at Bob Jones High School in Huntsville, Ala…led the Senators to a 59-14 record over his final two seasons, while earning all-state honors in each…also an all-district and all-region honoree in each his junior and senior seasons, and was the 2006 Super All-Metro MVP…the Senators’ team MVP in his final two seasons…as a senior, averaged 19.7 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals per game to lead BJHS to a 33-4 record…as a junior, averaged 12.5 points, four rebounds and four assists per game and participated in the North-South All-Star Game, where he was named MVP after scoring 20 points and dishing out six assists in 29 minutes…also named the MVP of the 2006 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game after scoring 18 points.
