Biography

2007-08
Started all 29 games at point guard for the Gamecocks as a junior, the only JSU player to earn the starting nod in every game…averaged 5.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while his 6.4 assists per game were second in the OVC and 11th nationally…led the OVC and was fourth nationally in assists-to-turnover ratio with a 2.98 mark…averaged 6.1 assists per contest in 20 league games…was named the OVC’s Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 26 after he averaged 11.0 points, 9.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.5 rebounds during the week…set the school’s Division I single-game assists record twice, with 13 at UT Martin on Dec. 8 and vs. Southeast Missouri on Dec. 20, two games in which he turned the ball over just once per game…was an 84 percent free throw shooter…recorded at least five assists 23 times, including four 20+ assists efforts…recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 assists on Dec. 20 vs. SEMO…scored in double figures seven times, including a pair of 15-point efforts, at Central Arkansas on Nov. 24 and vs. Georgia State on Feb. 23…On Jan. 29 at Tennessee State, scored 14 points to go along with seven assists and six steals.

2006-07
Appeared in all 30 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore and was in the starting lineup for 10 of them…led the Ohio Valley Conference and ranked 40th nationally with an average of 5.2 assists per game and dished out a team-high 156 assists…was seventh in the OVC with 47 steals, an average of 1.57 per game…averaged 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, while shooting almost 35 percent from the floor…tied the school’s Division I school record for assists in a game on Dec. 9, when he dished out 12 against UT Martin…had seven or more assists in a game 11 times…scored a season-high 11 points against Tennessee State on Jan. 30m thanks to a 2-for-2 effort from behind the arc…scored 10 points at Wisconsin-Green Bay on Dec. 27, when he also was 2-for-2 from 3-point land…picked up a season-high five steals against VMI on Dec. 2 in Williamsburg, Va.

2005-06
Appeared in 28 of the Gamecocks’ 29 games as a true freshman point guard...was second on the team in assists with 45, and average of 1.61 per contest...averaged 10 minutes per game off of the bench and started once, against Tennessee State at home on Jan. 14...played a season-high 32 minutes in the home opener against Coastal Carolina on Nov. 21 and wowed the crowed with acrobatic passes that led to a season-high seven assists...also had a season-high tying three rebounds in that game, tying the three he pulled in against Tennessee Tech on Jan. 12 and against Tennessee State on Jan. 14...scored a season-high nine points on a 3-for-5 outing from 3-point land at Tennessee State on Jan. 30...had a season-high three steals against Tennessee Temple on Dec. 1...had two blocks on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played for head coach Floyd Mack at Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta...a second-team all-state selection in each his junior and senior seasons, led the Raiders to back-to-back Georgia Class AAAA State Championships...led MHS to a combined 79-14 record in sophomore, junior and senior seasons...named the Raiders’ co-MVP as a senior, thanks to nine points, nine assists and five steals per game in his senior season...a first-team all-region selection in his junior and senior seasons...as a junior, averaged six points, nine assists and five steals per game...recorded over 500 assists and 300 steals in his career at MHS...named the Leader of the Month by High School Sports Book...also played tennis and ran cross country for MHS and was named best all-around on the cross country team and most improved in tennis...led both XC and tennis to region titles.

PERSONAL
Born on Oct. 23, 1985, in Atlanta...the son of Everett and Deborah Bray...has one sister, Michelle, and three brothers, Shaunta, Robert and Mike...was an honor student at Mays High School and featured in Who’s Who Among American High School Students…majoring in sociology/physical education at JSU.
