2013: Played in 36 games her first year at JSU, making 33 starts primarily at first base and designated hitter…finished the season with a .233 average on 86 at bats...recorded 20 hits, including three doubles and one home run while driving in 16 runs…finished with six multi-hit games…hit her first career home run against Southern Miss as a pinch hitter on Feb. 15.
PRIOR TO JSU: Played at Eastern Arizona College in Safford, Ariz., under head coach Kate McCluskey prior to transferring to JSU… was named NJCAA Region first team in 2011 and 2012…finished her sophomore season with 19 homeruns and 77 RBI…named All-American Scholar Athlete in 2010 and 2011.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Sunnyside High School in Tuscon, Ariz., under head coach Peter Palomarez…helped the Blue Devils win the 2007 5A-2 State Championship and a runner-up finish in 2010…batted over .400 her senior year…also lettered in volleyball, where she was named All-5A-Southern Region Second Team…was an honor student and a member for the honor society…played travel ball with the Inferno, Tucson Elite and Jinx…named Offensive MVP while leading the Tuscan Elite to a World Series runner-up finish in 2008.
PERSONAL: Born on December 1, 1991, in Tucson, Ariz…the daughter of Tony and Joy Martinez…has one brother...married Corey Maldonado between her junior and senior seasons, changing her name from Amanda Martinez…is majoring in Biology at JSU.
