JSU Soccer Hosts Alabama State On Tuesday

JACKSONVILLE  -- Jacksonville State wraps up a three-match home stand on Tuesday when Alabama State visits the JSU Soccer Field for a 6 p.m. contest.

The Gamecocks enter the match on a two-game winning streak, their first since 2006, and a 2-4-2 overall record. JSU, which has scored nine goals in the last three matches, captured a 3-2 win over South Alabama last Friday. Kristi Pereira, Chelsea Pelletier and Amber DeLaney accounted for JSU's goals.

Kaitlyn MacLellan leads the team with three goals followed by Pelletier, Pereira and Delaney with two apiece. Casey Brettman has a team-high two assists. Kate Kelly made nine saves versus USA to bring her season total to 59.     

Alabama State is 0-5 on the season following a 12-0 loss to the University of North Alabama last Friday. The Hornets have been outscored 44-1 in five games this season with Monique Sylvester scoring the Hornets' lone goal.
