JACKSONVILLE – Ohio Valley Conference play begins for the Jacksonville State women's soccer team this weekend when it travels to Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech. Kickoff for the Austin Peay match is set for Friday at 7 p.m. while the Tennessee Tech game is a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.
The Gamecocks are 3-4-2 on the season and have won three-straight coming into the weekend. JSU captured a 12-0 win over Alabama State on Tuesday.
Chelsea Pelletier scored three goals against Alabama State to give her a team-high four. Kristi Pereira, Kaitlyn MacLellan, 
Lindsay Boehmler, and 
Amber DeLaney follow with three goals apiece. Casey Brettman has a team-high three assists while 
Alyshia Madison and Pereira each have two.
Goalkeeper Kate Kelly has started eight of nine games for the Gamecocks and has 59 saves. 
Christine Cunningham made her first collegiate start in goal against Alabama State, recording three saves. 
Jacksonville State and Austin Peay meet for the fifth time with JSU holding a 3-1-1 advantage in the series. The Gamecocks claimed a 3-1 win last season in Jacksonville. JSU has a 4-1-2 lead in the Tennessee Tech series, falling 2-0 last year in Jacksonville. 
Austin Peay is 2-7-0 entering Friday's contest. The Lady Govs lost to Coastal Carolina, 4-1, and Winthrop, 2-1, last weekend in Rock Hill, S.C. 
Rian Barger leads APSU with three goals while Alanna Foster has two goals and two assists. Carly Newman has made six starts in goal and has 29 saves while Michelle Smith has two starts and 15 saves. 
Tennessee Tech is in the midst of a three-game losing streak and is 1-8-0 on the year. The Eagles, who play SIU-Edwardsville on Thursday, fell to Georgia State, 5-1, in its last time out. 
Ashley Smith and Katie Hoover lead TTU with two goals apiece, and Smith has the team's lone assist. Kaitlyn Thacker has started all eight games in goal and has 58 saves.
