The Jacksonville State men's basketball team will be looking to get back into the win column at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, when the Gamecocks welcome Southeast Missouri to Pete Mathews Coliseum for their second OVC home game in three days.
Jax State has dropped three of its last four games after a 78-69 loss to Eastern Illinois on Saturday night. The defeat was the Gamecocks' first loss in OVC play and their first home loss under new head coach James Green.
The Gamecocks welcome a Southeast Missouri squad into town that has had its own struggles this season. The Redhawks have dropped three in a row and eight of their last nine, including a 103-76 defeat at Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.
The meeting will be the 10th all-time between JSU and the Redhawks, with the Gamecocks holding a 7-2 advantage in the previous nine games. JSU won the last meeting, 86-83 on March 1, 2008, to close the 2007-08 regular season. The Gamecocks are 3-1 against SEMO at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
The Gamecocks currently have five players averaging double figures in the scoring column, led by senior Jonathan Toles' 12.1 points per game. Freshman Brandon Crawford is second on the squad with 11.9 points per outing, while sophomore Jeremy Bynum's average sits at 11.7 ppg after a team-high 15 points against EIU on Saturday. Sophomore Nick Murphy is averaging 10.7 points, while freshman Geddes Robinson is scoring 10 points per game.
Senior DeAndre Bray leads the OVC with 6.1 assists per game after dishing 11 assists on Saturday, the seventh time in his career he has recorded 10 or more assists in a game.
The game will be televised on TV24 and will be broadcast on the JSU Radio Network with Mike Parris calling the action.
