CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois scored three first half goals en route to a 3-0 win over Jacksonville State on Sunday afternoon at Lakeside Soccer Field on the EIU campus.
Ashley Streid, Laura Ridolfi, and Kaitlin Sullivan tallied first half goals for Eastern Illinois, which improved to 6-5-5 overall and 2-1-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Streid gave EIU a 1-0 scoring her fourth goal of the season off a cross from Rachel Hamilton in the 13th minute.
Ridolfi took a pass in the Sam Kohen from 10 yards out in the center of the 18-yard box to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the 33rd minute.
Sullivan made it a 3-0 contest on another pass from Kohen with 38 seconds remaining in the first half.
Jacksonville State (6-10, 0-6 OVC) was limited to five total shots and two shots on goal.
Chelsea Pelletier had both shots on goal for the Gamecocks in the 64th and 78th minute. Eastern Illinois totaled shots, four on goal.
Ali Koenig had one save on the day for JSU while EIU's Jenny Williams had two.
JSU returns home to host Tennessee Tech for senior night on Friday at 7 p.m. at the JSU Soccer Field. Admission is free to all JSU home soccer matches.
