Gamecock Soccer Looks To Bounce Back Against Austin Peay

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State looks to end a four-match Ohio Valley Conference losing streak when the Gamecocks host Austin Peay at the JSU Soccer Field on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Gamecocks are 6-8 overall and 0-4 in OVC play. Austin Peay is off to a 0-2-2 start in conference play and enters the weekend 1-9-3 overall.

Jacksonville State leads the series 3-2-1 with the home team winning the last four meetings in the series. Austin Peay won last year's meeting 1-0 in Clarksville, Tenn.

Senior Amber DeLaney leads JSU with 13 points, six goals and an assist followed by sophomore Chelsea with 12 points, four goals and four assists. Malanie Rigo has a team-high five assists while Alex Rustad, Eli Arthur, and Pelletier are tied with four. Goalkeeper Ali Koenig has 63 saves and a 1.18 goals against average.

Monique Wong and Katie Cannon lead Austin Peay with two goals apiece while Wong and Jazzmine Chandler each have one assist. Carley Newman has played in 13 games in goal for the Lady Govs with 67 saves and a 1.72 goals against average.
